Brake Services We Offer

We offer brake repair and maintenance on every component of your brake system, such as:

  • Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS): This system ensures that your wheels continue to rotate while still slowing down to prevent skidding and providing better control.
  • Brake Fluid Flushes: Over time, your brake fluid can absorb moisture, and water in the brake fluid reduces the effectiveness of the brakes and can cause corrosion to the internal components of the brake system. When you get a flush, the old brake fluid is forced out of the system and is replaced with clean, fresh brake fluid.
  • Brake Hoses: Your brake hoses are responsible for carrying pressurized brake fluid from the master cylinder to the brakes. If the hoses or lines are damaged or leaking, your braking power is weakened and delayed, and it can lead to brake failure.
  • Brake Pads and Shoes: If you notice your brakes squealing or squeaking, this sound can mean that your pads (in disc brake systems) or shoes (in drum brake systems) are worn out. When the friction materials on your brakes get thin, they do not provide the friction force needed to slow and stop. If you notice a “metal-on-metal” sound when you brake, or a grinding, it can mean that the friction material is completely gone, and the brakes are beginning to destroy your rotor surfaces. With replacement services, our technicians will replace the old, worn-out pads and shoes and will smooth out the rough spots in the rotors if needed.
  • Caliper Replacement: Your brake calipers house your brake pads, which clamp around the rotor to slow their turning motion. If the calipers are loose or are uneven in their positioning, the force needed for braking will be uneven, and braking ability will be impaired.
  • Rotor Resurfacing and Replacing: Over time, your brake pads will inevitably begin to cause grooves and rough spots on the rotor surfaces, and the heat from the friction may even cause the rotors to warp. Our rotor service can smooth out the rotor surfaces, or if the rotors are warped or severely damaged, we can replace them.

These are some of the main brake services we offer at ALM Ford Marietta, but we can do it all, from ABS sensors to computer glitches and more. If you think you may need brake services, our technicians will take care of you and your vehicle and get you back on the road quickly and accurately.
