Every VIP-certified pre-owned vehicle passes a thorough multi-point inspection
Every certified pre-owned vehicle first needs to pass a thorough inspection from our expert, factory-trained technicians, covering more than 60 critical systems and components. Vehicles must pass every category before being offered with VIP coverage.
Inspection Categories
Engine & Performance
Block and cylinder heads, intake and exhaust manifolds, internal components, timing system, fluid integrity, and leak inspection.
Transmission & Drivetrain
Transmission case integrity, fluid condition, CV joints and boots, axle shafts, U-joints, and mounting hardware.
Brakes & Safety Systems
Front and rear brake pads (4mm minimum), rotors, calipers, brake lines and hoses, parking brake, brake fluid condition.
Suspension & Steering
Ball joints, tie rods, struts and shocks, suspension components, power steering pump and reservoir.
Tires & Wheels
Tread depth (4/32 inch minimum), tire pressure, wheel condition, alignment verification, no oversized or modified tires.
Electrical & Technology
All manual switches and controls, lighting (headlamps, tail lights, signals), infotainment, climate control, drive assist systems where equipped.
Road Test
A 10 to 15 minute road test verifies engine operation, oil pressure, transmission shift quality, vibration, and overall driving performance under real-world conditions.
If any inspection point fails, the vehicle is repaired and re-inspected before being offered with VIP. Vehicles with modifications, oversized tires, or aftermarket lifts are not eligible for VIP certification.

VIP Certified Pre-Owned Warranty Options. The standard VIP Certified Pre-Owned warranty is StatedCare 12-month/12,000-mile limited warranty coverage. Select Plus alternative provides 6 months of premium benefits including road hazard tire & wheel, cosmetic wheel repair, paintless dent repair, windshield repair, and roadside assistance. Commercial vehicles excluded. Mechanical coverage may include remaining full factory warranty, factory certified warranty, or EasyCare Limited Warranty coverage. StatedCare is available for domestic vehicles outside of the manufacturer’s warranty. Select Plus is available for all European vehicles, domestic vehicles with the manufacturer’s warranty remaining, and fully electric vehicles.
Inspection Eligibility. VIP-certified pre-owned vehicle inspection program backed by EasyCare Vehicle Service Contract eligibility standards. Vehicles with modifications, oversized tires, or aftermarket lifts not eligible for VIP certification. Some benefits may vary by vehicle eligibility.
Membership Terms. VIP Club benefits are tied to the original purchaser and the specific vehicle covered. Benefits are non-transferable. The $500 next-vehicle coupon has no expiration date but is limited to one per transaction and cannot be combined with other ALM loyalty incentives. Photocopies not accepted. The $500 coupon is valid at any ALM franchise dealership.
